Kristin Butler is an Instructor of Medical Laboratory Science at LSU Health Shreveport School of Allied Health Professions. She earned her Master of Public Health from LSU Shreveport/LSU Health Shreveport (Joint Degree Program), her B.S. in Medical Technology from LSU Health Shreveport and her B.S. in Biology from LSU Shreveport. Kristin’s research interests include group B Streptococcal infections during pregnancy, antibiotic resistance, antibiotic stewardship, maternal and child health, and vaccine promotion. Kristin teaches Immunology, Immunohematology, and Research in the Department of Medical Laboratory Science. She currently serves as the Area I Representative for the Louisiana Society for Clinical Laboratory Science (LSCLS) and as the Area Director for the Southwestern Association for Clinical Microbiology (SWACM). Prior to academia, Kristin worked as a Medical Laboratory Scientist in microbiology, mycology, and mycobacteriology.
