Dr. Lynda Britton is a Professor of Medical Laboratory Science at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport. She earned her Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction (Science Education) from the Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge and her M.A. in Management from Central Michigan University. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology from the University of Texas in Arlington. Lynda’s research interests are in microbiology and science education. She has published in various journals, online continuing education sites and book chapters. Lynda has also presented invited and peer reviewed lectures on the national and regional levels as well as many state presentations. She teaches Clinical Microbiology lecture and laboratory, Clinical Mycology and Parasitology, Personnel and Operational Management, and coordinates Senior Seminar. She is very active in the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science and serves on the board of the Southwestern Society for Clinical Microbiology where she has received several rewards. Prior to academia, Lynda worked as a Medical Laboratory Scientists generalist and microbiology specialist.
