Stephanie Blackburn is the Program Director and Assistant Professor in the Medical Laboratory Science Program. She earned her Master of Health Science and B.S. in Medical Technology at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center Shreveport School of Allied Health Professions. She is a licensed Clinical Laboratory Scientist by the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners and certified by the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification. Stephanie’s research interests include leadership and motivation in the medical laboratory profession. She teaches clinical chemistry and clinical microscopy. Stephanie is active in her professional organizations, currently serving as Treasurer for ASCLS Region VII and is past-president for LSCLS. She volunteers with the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Science, reviewing self-studies and performing site visits. Stephanie was honored with the 2017 LSCLS Member of the Year and the 2014 LSCLS Educator of the Year. She was also inducted in the Alpha Eta Honor Society, received the 2012 Faculty Service Award at LSUHSC Shreveport School of Allied Health Professions, and was a recipient of the distinguished 2018 Copping Award for Teaching Excellence.
