  • Internal moonlighting is available in our department after regular hours. However, it may not interfere in any way with daily required resident duties and responsibilities. Malpractice insurance provided by LSU Health Shreveport covers internal moonlighting only. Internal moonlighting hours must be combined with regular scheduled program hours and may not exceed the 80-hour per week limit. Moonlighting hours must be recorded in the monthly clinical hour report.

(NOTE: Residents on a J-1 VISA may NOT independently moonlight due to Federal regulations.)

  

LEAVE

Annual Leave (Vacation)

  • 20 days of vacation are given each year per GME policy.
  • Additional restrictions per the Department of Radiology's Vacation Policy may apply.

Sick Leave

  • 10 days are given each year per GME policy.
  • Sick leave may only be used for personal illness or doctor/dental appointments.

Educational Leave

  • The Department of Radiology allows 10 educational days to be used throughout residency for meeting attendance or other approved educational time.

Interview Leave

  • The Department of Radiology allows 6 interview days to be used for fellowship or job interviews.
  • Any additional days taken for interviews will then be deducted from Annual Leave.
