Autopsy Service

Autopsy Service

  1. Perform technically well-conduced pediatric and adult autopsies, both hospital and forensic cases. (PC, MK, PBLI)
  2. Formulate the clinical and anatomic diagnoses and determine the mechanisms and manners of death. (PC, MK, PBLI, ICS, SBP)
  3. Outline the organization of an autopsy service including special protocols. (PC, MK, PBLI, SBP)
  4. Perform in depth case analyses. (PC, MK)
  5. Teach small groups or individual students. (MK, ICS, P, SBP)
  6. Identify major neuroanatomical structures and perform autopsy procedures in neuropathology. (PC, MK, PBLI)

Surgical Pathology Service

  1. Properly examine, dissect, and describe gross surgical specimens from patients of all ages including pediatric patients. (PC, MK, PBLI, ICS)
  2. Examine and describe surgical specimens microscopically and determine the surgical pathologic diagnoses. (PC, MK, PBLI, ICS)
  3. Write a proper surgical pathology report that concisely conveys all important data about the specimen to the clinician. (MK, PBLI, ICS)
  4. Examine and describe dermatopathologic and neuropathologic specimens grossly and microscopically and determine the diagnoses. (PC, MK, PBLI, ICS)
  5. Outline the organization of a surgical pathology service. (MK, PBLI, SBP)

  1. Examine and interpret cytology specimens from gynecologic sites, the respiratory tract, urinary tract, body cavities, and other sites. (PC, MK, PBLI)
