Welcome to the LSU Health Shreveport Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery. Our surgeons, physician extenders, ancillary staff and nurses provide the best possible care to the people of North Louisiana and surrounding states. We have a multi-disciplinary team of highly trained specialists who are experts in the field of Head and Neck Surgery, Facial Plastics and Reconstructive Surgery, Hearing and Balance Disorders, Voice and Swallowing Disorders, Thyroid Disorders, Skull base and Sinus Surgery and Pediatric Otolaryngology. Our Department is recognized nationally and internationally for clinical expertise and research innovations. We have been NIH funded since 2000 and many of our projects have involved multi-institutional novels therapies with the lead investigator coming from our department faculty. The department sponsors a fully accredited Residency program, fellowship programs in Facial Plastics & Reconstructive Surgery and Head & Neck Surgery, as well as education programs for Medical Students. Our graduating Residents have had great success both in private practice and academic tracks, which is a testament to the quality of training we provide. The department performs approximately 2000 surgeries per year and over 12,000 office visits so the resident experience is extensive.
