Prospective students are invited to attend a faculty-led information session. Faculty will review the prerequisite courses required for admissions, provide an admissions process overview, and give a tour of our school which includes visiting classrooms and computer study lab.

Building Location: Our physical building address is 1450 Claiborne Avenue, Shreveport, LA 71103; however, that is our clinic entrance. The school building entrance is on Dowdell Street. Guests should enter the building from the Dowdell Street entrance.

Information sessions are given at the Program level and are open to the public. Attendance at these sessions is not required for admission. However, attendance is suggested as the applicant can insure they are up-to-date on program requirements. The applicant is held responsible for knowing Program prerequisites and requirements.
Participants learn firsthand about our Physician Assistant program: a review of the prerequisite courses required for admissions, an admissions process overview and a tour of our school which includes visiting classrooms and computer study lab. Occasionally, current students will be on hand to share a glimpse of their life as a PA student.
Participants are encouraged to come prepared by bringing a notebook, pen/pencil and unofficial copies of their transcripts. We have found that by spending time reviewing the information on our website before coming to an information session a participant answers some of their own questions and generates new questions to ask at the information session.
Coming to an information session is about confirming you want to be a Physician Assistant and if the LSU Health Shreveport program is a match for you. We want you to leave with a very clear understanding about the high expectations we have of our students, the challenging nature of graduate school and what you are committing to if you enter our program.
