Professor of Neurology
Dr. Zweig obtained his BA and MD from Case Western Reserve University, Neurology training at George Washington University Hospital and completed a Neuropathology Fellowship at Johns Hopkins University where he studied Neurodegenerative Diseases. He has been a full-time faculty member of the Department of Neurology since 1992, most of these years as a Professor. His specialty has been Parkinson’s disease and other Movement disorders. He has engaged in numerous clinical trials for medications and imaging procedures for Parkinson’s diseases, many as a member of the Parkinson Study Group, a North American consortium of academic Movement disorders specialists. He has been the medical director of the Parkinson’s Disease Resource of Northwest Louisiana. This group oversees/affiliates with local and regional support groups, a caregiver’s group, various local exercise-related programs, offers a quarterly newsletter, and has had a yearly patient-oriented educational symposium/holiday party for the Parkinson’s community.
