Ana Maria Dragoi, MD, PhD

Assistant Professor, Research at Feist-Weiller Cancer Center
Dr. Ana-Maria Dragoi is an Assistant Professor of Research in the Medicine Department and the Associate Director of INLET at FWCC. Dr. Dragoi has an MD from University of Medicine, Iasi-Romania and a PhD in Pathology from Brown University. As a postdoctoral fellow she studied bacterial-host interaction and cancer cell biology at Yale University. Her research interests are directed towards cellular processes that facilitate metastatic progression in cancer. Specifically, Dr. Dragoi laboratory is investigating epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT), a cellular process characterized by loss of cell-cell adhesion and gain of migratory properties, a process that emerged as a crucial driver of embryonic development and tumor progression.
