Congratulations to our S.M.A.R.T student, Tobias Kallenberg, on his placing third in the Louisiana State Science Fair in the Biochemistry category on March 21, 2018 in Baton Rouge for his project, “An Investigation into the Possible Application of Selenide in the Treatment of Ischemic Vascular Disease.”

Dr. Chris Kevil has been awarded a five-year $10.5 million Centers of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE) grant by the National Institutes of Health. He is the principal investigator of the project that will advance understanding of redox regulation of cardiovascular disease.
