A Message from the Dean

December is always a busy month around the School of Allied Health Professions. As all return from the Thanksgiving break, a fever pitch starts to develop as students prepare for final examinations and the staff begins decorating for Christmas. This is a month highlighted by a great photo opportunity where patients, faculty, staff, students and their families and friends get to have their photo taken with our very own man in the red suit, Dr. Clif Frilot. It is also a time we collect items for the less fortunate. This year, we have taken on the Gingerbread House as our sponsored nonprofit and individuals were asked to bring an item to donate to a needy child.

As the students finish their final exams and look forward to a month of downtime, faculty and staff prepare for our annual Christmas Potluck Luncheon, complete with the always popular Pirate Gift Exchange. It’s also the time when those who have been participating in the “Secret Santa” process the preceding two weeks, finally reveal the elves who have been depositing small gifts in the offices of their secret recipient.

As we all enjoy this special time of year, we offer wishes to all our friends for a very Merry Christmas and look forward to a prosperous New Year.
