Allied Health Professions

The Speech-Language Pathology Program at LSU Health Shreveport—leading to the Master of Communication Disorders (MCD) degree—utilizes the online application system, Communication Science and Disorders Centralized Application Service (CSDCAS).

Applicants will complete the CSDCAS application and send all application materials directly to CSDCAS. CSDCAS posts Frequently Asked Questions on the applicant portal which can be accessed before an application is created. Please read the FAQ’s before submitting your application.

CSDCAS 2017-2018 Application Checklist:

Complete the CSDCAS Application: the CSDCAS portal opens on August 2, 2017; you can access the CSDCAS portal here.

  • Application Deadline: The deadline for verified CSDCAS applications is February 1, 2018. Applications must be completed (e-submitted, payment received, and all materials received) at least four weeks in advance of the verification deadline to ensure the application is verified on time.
  • The CSDCAS application fee is $125.00 for the first graduate program applied to and $50.00 for each additional graduate program.

Submit the following materials to CSDCAS:

  • Official transcripts from all college-level institutions ever attended (including high school dual enrollment) sent to CSDCAS (for more info see HOW TO SEND TRANSCRIPTS)
  • Official GRE test scores sent to CSDCAS at GRE code 2213
  • Three letters of reference completed by instructors or supervisors via the CSDCAS “Evaluation” portal
  • CV/Resume uploaded to the “Documents” section of the CSDCAS application
  • Admissions essay uploaded to the “Documents” section of the CSDCAS application responding to following prompt:
    • An issue frequently debated by the legislature concerns funding of various social/public programs, including speech-language pathology services. If you had the opportunity to present an argument to the legislature concerning the adequacy of funding of speech-language pathology services, what would your argument be?

CSDCAS 2017-2018 Application Timeline:

The program begins accepting 2017-2018 applications through CSDCAS on August 2, 2017. The deadline for verified CSDCAS applications is February 1, 2018. Applications must be completed (e-submitted, payment received, and all materials received) at least four weeks in advance of the verification deadline to ensure the application is verified on time. Accepted students attend orientation on Monday, May 21, 2018 and begin coursework on the following Tuesday, May 22, 2018.
