Job Summary and Qualifications:
LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, LA seeks candidates for a full time faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in the Division of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery, Department of Surgery.
The medical center associated with the institution is a tertiary care hospital serving an urban and rural population of approximately 2.5 million, encompassing 25,000 square miles in Louisiana, East Texas, and Southwestern Arkansas. The division has a busy open and endovascular practice. We have a state-of-the-art hybrid vascular and endovascular suite dedicated to Vascular Surgery, which includes ceiling-mounted imaging system, intravascular ultrasound, and portable ultrasound. The successful applicant will participate in patient care, resident and medical student education, and clinical and/or basic science research. The resources for basic and clinical research are excellent. Vascular research lab and seed funding are available. The Virginia Sheehee Biomedical Research Institute at LSUHSC-S contains over 6,000 square feet of staffed wet lab specifically dedicated to cardiovascular research and the physiology of acute inflammation.
Candidates must be fellowship trained and BE/BC in Vascular Surgery. Academic rank and compensation package will be commensurate with the candidate’s credentials and experience. The search is being led by Wayne W. Zhang, MD, Professor and Chief, Division of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery.
