Minimum Qualifications:

Ph.D., M.D., or M.D./Ph.D. within the last 0-2 years in cell biology, biochemistry, pathology, or related disciplines and possess a strong publication history.  Candidates with a background in vascular cell biology or cell signaling are particularly encouraged to apply.  English competency is required.

Job Summary:

A Postdoctoral Fellow position is immediately available in the laboratory of Dr. Wayne Orr studying the signaling mechanisms underlying endothelial cell activation and atherosclerotic plaque formation.  The Orr lab, located in the Department of Pathology and Translational Pathobiology at the LSU Health Science Center in Shreveport, has a long-standing interest in the vascular cell signaling mechanisms and the integration of signaling pathways from various environmental cues.  The Post-doctoral Fellow will join an NIH funded project examining the endothelial response to shear and oxidative stress.  In association with the LSU Center for Cardiovascular Diseases and Sciences (CCDS), the fellow will be exposed to extensive training and networking opportunities in vascular biology, career development workshops through the local Post-Doctoral Association, and opportunities for intramural fellowships through the CCDS.
