Job Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Applicants for this faculty position must have all of the following prior to effective date of appointment: Medical Degree or foreign equivalent; Louisiana Medical License; Completion of a 3-year Internal Medicine Residency; completion of a 3-year ACGME (Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education)-approved Fellowship in Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine; Board certification in Internal Medicine; and eligibility or certification in Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine.  Additionally, applicants should have completed additional formal training in the diagnosis and treatment of ILD, or have substantial documented experience in the multidisciplinary approach to ILD.

Job Summary:

 The Division of Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine at LSUHSC-S seeks applications for a faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, specializing in interstitial lung diseases (ILD) and pulmonary vasculitis. 

The successful candidate will be assigned to our evolving ILD Clinics, integrating with other disciplines (especially Rheumatology) to provide comprehensive care to patients with ILD and pulmonary vasculitis, as well as participating in the Division’s other clinical activities.  This individual will also participate in the teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows.

Located in northwest Louisiana, LSUHSC-S serves as the only academic medical center for a large catchment area.  Our Division offers a wide array of clinical services, including advanced bronchoscopy and adult ECMO.  We have fellowships in Critical Care, Pulmonary/Critical Care, and Interventional Pulmonary, and share a Sleep Medicine fellowship with Neurology.  Shreveport, with a population of 440,000 in the greater metro area, has the resources of larger cities, with a low cost of living and a very livable lifestyle.  We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
