Job Location: LSU Health Shreveport

Primary Duties:
Duties of the position will include laboratory maintenance, making buffers, pouring electrophoresis gels, and performing other specialized activities (ex. DNA genotyping, histology). Experience is not required or expected, and students will be trained for all of the aforementioned duties. The ideal candidate will be early in their undergraduate training and willing to devote at least 12-15 hours per week. Hours can significantly expand during holiday and summer breaks at the discretion of the student, and this is often associated with expanded research duties. In the past, students have co-authored manuscripts based off of laboratory work. Eligibility for employment as a Student Worker requires the individual to be enrolled in an accredited high school, junior college, college or university, or a vocational-technical school operated by the State of Louisiana in a full-time status. Full-time status is determined by the institution in which the student is enrolled and must be verified by the Office of the Registrar with an affixed seal. If an undergraduate student is in his last semester, any amount of credit hours are acceptable.
