Tax Savings Accounts

LSUHSC-Shreveport employees can reduce their taxes and increase spendable income by participating in two tax savings plans offered. New employees can enroll in either or both Flexible Spending Accounts during their first 30 days of employment.

  • Medical Expense Reimbursement Plan sets aside pre-taxed income to pay for eligible medical costs, including deductibles and co-insurance expenses paid out-of-pocket, at the time services are rendered.
  • Dependent Care Expense Plan uses the employee's pre-tax contributions to pay the cost of daycare for children under the age of 13.
