Stuffed Animal Doctor Clinic

Every March, in celebration of National Child Life Month and Reach Out and Read Month, the Child Life Department and the Reach Out and Reach Program at the Children’s Hospital of LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport host a Stuffed Animal Clinic. Area children have the chance to dress up like doctors and are given a free stuffed animal and book. The children are able give their stuffed animal “patient” a thorough examination which includes weight, length, vital sign measurements, shots, band aids and much more! Parents that attend are provided with information about the Children’s’ Hospital of LSU Heath Sciences Center in Shreveport, the Child Life Department and the Reach Out and Read Program. For more information or to donate new stuffed animals and new or gently used books, please contact Amanda Hays, CCLS, Child Life Manger at 318.675.4684.
