Virtual Surgery Planning
Virtual surgery planning is an innovative and revolutionary surgical concept that uses computer technology for pre-surgical planning, and for guiding and performing surgical procedures. An accurate model of the patient and the anatomical area is created through different medical imaging techniques including CT and MRI. This image is then uploaded into the computer system and a computer model of the area is created. The surgeon can then manipulate this model to provide views from different angles and depths in order to establish a more accurate diagnosis. The surgical intervention can then be planned and simulated virtually before the actual surgery takes place. Surgical guides can then be created to optimize the surgical approach, decrease surgical procedure time, and decrease surgical morbidity.
