Didactics
The teaching program involves members of
the faculty, residents, and visiting professors from other departments
and institutions. We expect all residents and faculty members to attend
these conferences and actively participate. Each clinical service chief
also conducts teaching rounds.
The following didactics are offered on a daily/weekly/monthly schedule:
Weekly M & M Conference
General Competency Lecture - ACGME Six General Competencies are reviewed
Basic Science Seminar (CREOG) - CREOG learning objectives are presented and discussed
OB/GYN Grand Rounds - Presented by faculty, residents, guest faculty and visiting professors
Tumor Board Conference - Pathology slides and specimens are presented and discussed
GYN Preoperative Conference - Patients scheduled for surgery are presented.
Obstetric Rounds - Acute Obstetrics and High-Risk Obstetrics formal rounds and discussions
Fetal Board - Multidisciplinary conference to discuss maternal/neonatal outcomes
Journal Club - Evidence-based discussion of controversies in Obstetrics and Gynecology
ABOG Lifelong Learning Curriculum - Reading assignments - residents tested on content
