Department of Neurosurgery Hosts 16th Annual Levy Conference

The Department of Neurosurgery at LSU Health Shreveport will host the 16th Annual Levy Conference on Friday, April 5. Each year a renowned neurosurgeon is invited to Shreveport serve as keynote speaker of the conference, providing the medical community an opportunity to gain new insight and increase knowledge in the field of neurosurgery. This year’s Levy Conference keynote speaker is Robert H. Rosenwasser, MD, MBA, FACS, FAHA. Dr. Rosenwasser is Professor and Chairman of the Department of Neurological Surgery at Thomas Jefferson University, and President of the Vickie and Jack Farber Institute for Neuroscience at Thomas Jefferson University. He is also a LSU Health Shreveport alumni, receiving his Doctorate of Medicine degree from the School of Medicine in 1979.

Dr. Rosenwasser will give two keynote presentations:

  • Morning Session (10 a.m.) – “Endovascular Options in Neurovascular Diseases”
  • Afternoon Session (1:30 p.m.) – “The Neurosurgeon as a Stoke Specialist”

In addition to the keynote presentations, LSU Health Shreveport Department of Neurosurgery residents will also be presenting their latest research. Graduating Neurosurgery Residents will also be recognized before they go on to continue their training in Fellowship programs.

Each year, the Levy Conference brings together approximately 200 clinicians, researchers, medical students, area medical professionals, nurses, physician's assistants, and members of the community to discuss leading neurosurgical topics with world-renowned neurosurgeons.

The Levy Conference is a free continuing medical education activity.
