After three years of study and preparation, Chairman & Professor of Neurosurgery Dr. Anil Nanda graduated from the Harvard School of Public Health with a Masters in Public Health on Thursday, May 24 in Boston. Students from 57 countries, 34 US states, and the District of Columbia received degrees. As part of his curriculum, Dr. Nanda helped pass the Louisiana Youth Concussion Law. This requires all schools, clubs, and other organizations that sponsor youth athletics to provide athletes and their parents with information about concussions and the potential long-term effects of playing after a head injury.
Dr. Nanda hopes to serve Louisiana in new ways, combining his experience in neurosurgery with his newly gained public health and management perspective to contribute to the wellness of the Shreveport-Bossier community as a whole.
