Undergraduate Research Apprenticeship Program
Students at the undergraduate level will be selected to participate in an eight-week hands-on research apprenticeship under the supervision of selected LSUHSC basic research and medical faculty. The program is designed to stimulate an interest in students to pursue careers in biomedical research, medical school or allied health professions. Selected students will attend weekly seminars and departmental lectures. At the end of the program each student is required to present a Poster Paper that demonstrates their ability to evaluate scientific data, illustrate writing skills, and discuss research findings.
Selection Criteria:
- Louisiana Resident
- Classification: Freshman, Junior, Sophomore, or Senior
- Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or related Science Majors
- GPA of 3.0 and Above
- Letter of Recommendation
- Official Transcript
