The Pastoral Care Department focuses on the spiritual well-being and support of patients and staff. Some of the services available from hospital chaplains include:

responding to emergency calls, deaths and codes where the presence of the Pastoral Care Staff has been determined to be necessary for the Spiritual Support of the patient and/or family

pre-Surgery prayer with patient and family
-
daily rounds in our critical care units including MICU, SICU, PICU, Neonatal ICU, Neurosurgical ICU, Burn Unit
-
regular scheduled Sunday Church Service in the Psychiatric Unit
-
community outreach to ministerial alliances and groups interested in being of service
-
provide religious literature from various denominations as requested by patient and/or family
-
contacting outlying clergy at the request of patient and/or family
A hospital Chaplain is available from 8:00 a.m. until midnight 7 days a week. An on call chaplain is available from midnight to 8:00 a.m. at the request of Nursing Administrative Staff Support. To request a hospital chaplain, patients and families should ask the nurse to contact a chaplain on their behalf or the patient and/or family may contact the Pastoral Care Services Office at 318.675.5534.
