Applicant must meet one of the following to qualify:
1. Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related area with a minimum of one (1) year experience in medical and/or insurance billing.
2. Associate degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related area with a minimum of three (3) year experience in medical and/or insurance billing.
3. Minimum of ten (10) years medical and/or insurance billing.
This is an autonomous professional position requiring special skills and knowledge that span the entire revenue cycle including but not limited to expertise in billing applications, denial reduction, process analysis and improvement. Incumbent must master Hospital Billing activities with LSUHSC-SHV’s fully integrated electronic medical record system (EPIC) to maximize revenue to the Institution. Encompassing all aspects of hospital billing, the position requires detail-oriented, organized, and highly motivated individual to function effectively. Functions include all elements of billing and collection processes, i.e. account follow-up, processing payments, refunds and undistributed funds, delinquent account follow-up, skip tracing and customer service.
