Our Mission

Established in 1997, the LSU Health Sciences Foundation is a public, non-profit entity. The sole mission of the Foundation is to support, enhance and assist the LSU Health Sciences Center at Shreveport in its many endeavors. The Foundation works diligently to expand awareness of the Health Sciences Center's contributions to medical research, higher education and quality health care. The Foundation also develops and enhances financial support for the institution and provides the means through which financial support is received and administered.

Although this is our official mission statement, our intent is so much more. The LSU Health Sciences Center at Shreveport is truly a part of this community-whether working, learning, teaching, treating, or receiving treatment, thousands of community members come to LSUHSCS for a future. It is our intent, as the LSU Health Sciences Foundation, to support that future.
