10 a.m. at Centenary College Gold Dome

Seth Mark Berney, MD, a Professor of Medicine and Chief of Rheumatology and Clinical Immunology at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, has been selected as the speaker for the LSU Health Shreveport commencement ceremony. A total of 175 students – 114 medical students, 52 from the School of Allied Health Professions, and 9 from the School of Graduate Studies – will receive their degrees at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 27 at the Centenary Gold Dome. The ceremony will also be live streamed on the LSU Health Shreveport YouTube channel.

GRADUATING STUDENTS: Students are asked to arrive by 9:15 a.m. in dressy attire. On graduation day, students only (no family or friends) will enter the Gold Dome from the East Kings Highway side, where they will put on their regalia. The Gold Dome will open at approximately 9:15 a.m. for family and friends. Students are not limited on the number of guests they may invite to the ceremony. Graduates, please do not bring purses, coats, jackets, etc. – there is no means of locking up things for safekeeping.

PARKING AT THE GOLD DOME (click here for map): There are numerous parking lots near the Gold Dome and on the Centenary College campus. There will be a security escort to assist in crossing East Kings Highway from the campus parking lots. Security will be stationed near the intersection of East Kings Highway and Alexander Street. Parking is also available on neighboring streets.

Centenary will provide shuttles around the Centenary campus to transport guests from the further parking lots to the Gold Dome. The shuttles will run from 8:45-10 a.m. Handicapped guests may be dropped off at the handicap entrance near the tennis courts (refer to the map).
