Welcome to the LSU Health Sciences Center at Shreveport. Drawing on the hospital’s historic legacy of service and teaching, area physicians and other prominent citizens tirelessly pursued their dream of building a major academic medical center in Shreveport to complement--not compete with--existing community hospitals and physicians. Laying the groundwork for the collaborative town-gown relationship that continues decades later these area physicians and prominent citizens instilled opportunities for the many public/private partnerships that have elevated healthcare services throughout the region.
Every day, incredible things happen here at the Shreveport Health Sciences Center. As a regional referral center, we serve patients with complex medical and surgical conditions. In our role as a community resource, we provide primary and secondary healthcare for patients of all ages.
