The Health Sciences Center maintains many accreditations and licenses which indicate that we meet or exceed national standards intended to ensure patient safety, the quality of educational programs and compliance with State and Federal regulations. The Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) is responsible for the accreditation of post-MD medical training programs within the United States. Accreditation is accomplished through a peer review process and is based upon established standards and guidelines. The American College of Surgeons (ACS) promotes the highest quality of trauma care in communities across the nation through an accreditation and verification process. The University Hospital is a verified Level One trauma Center by the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma (ACSCOT).
The Association for the Accreditation of Human Research Protection Programs (AAHRPP) promotes the highest quality research through an accreditation process. The Health Sciences Center is fully accredited research organization.
